Bio Dr. Brian Parker

I grew up in Cullman County and attended West Point High School. My path to medicine was not direct. After high school, I attended Wallace State Community college and received an associates degree in business. Shortly after graduating I was married to my wife Karen. Unsure of what to do next I left my job as a butcher for the local Walmart distribution center where I would work for the next 7 years. The last three years of which I also worked a construction job in my free time. After reflecting on my goals and desire to help others I decided I needed a career change and chose to pursue medicine. I continued to work at Walmart distribution while finishing my undergraduate degree at Athens State University. After that, I was accepted to the University of Alabama School Of Medicine. My last two years of medical school were done in Huntsville AL where I stayed to complete my Family Medicine Residency. We had our son during my third year of Medical school and added our daughter after the first year of residency and are expecting our third child in June of 2019. We are excited to be returning to Cullman to serve our Community.
