WHAT IS IT?
This test is designed to observe the major blood vessel in your abdomen, your aorta. It is helpful in diagnosing an aortic aneurysm, or widening of the aorta, it is also helpful in detecting stenosis, or narrowing of the aorta.
I AM COMING IN FOR THIS TEST WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
During this exam, the ultrasound technologist will use a transducer, along with gel, to take pictures of the Aorta. You will be required to lie on your back for approximately 20 minutes.
INDICATIONS:
Hypertension
High cholesterol
Kidney disease
History of Atherosclerosis
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THIS TEST?
There is no preparation for this test.
