WHAT IS IT?
This is an ultrasound test that looks at the carotid arteries that flow up both sides of the neck.
I AM COMING IN FOR THIS TEST WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
The ultrasound technologist will use put some gel on your neck and use a transducer to look at the blood flow. This is a painless procedure that will take approximately 30 minutes.
INDICATIONS:
Dizziness
Vision change
Loss of balance
Stroke
Bruit (noise or murmer)
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THIS TEST?
There is no preparation for this test.
